Members of the Rhodes Softball Team are pushed to be their very best - in the classroom, on the softball field and as active and productive members of their surrounding communities. Below are some of the many ways Lynx Softball players take active roles in practicing their civic responsibilities.

2015-2018 Community Outreach
Aspire Schools: Coleman Elementary (Memphis, TN)
Recently, we have acted as the host for Aspire Public Schools "Scholar Athlete Night" where between jr high basketball games the graduating 8th graders (both men's and women's basketball teams, as well as cheerleaders) are honored for their efforts in the classroom. We are proud to promote academic excellence and support Aspire's mission statement of College for Certain for all of their students.
In the past, the Lynx have teamed with Coleman providing materials necessary for students to continue to flourish, both in, and out of the classroom. During the fall semester, the lady Lynx provide sets of winter hats and gloves for the students of Coleman just in time for the season change.

2014-2015 Community Outreach
National Multiple Sclerosis Society (National Organization)
Rhodes Softball partnered with the MS Society to raise funds and awareness for the disease of Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to holding a community-wide fundraising campaign, the softball team also played a dedication game with alternative white and orange jerseys as a public show of support for those battling this illness.
Streetdog Foundation (Memphis, TN)
Rhodes Softball teamed with Streetdog, a local foundation that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes abandoned dogs in Memphis. The squad held a campus-wide "dog toy drive" and spent time walking and grooming the loveable pooches throughout the year.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Located in Memphis, TN)
Rhodes Softball is committed to continuing our partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - this season by holding a fundraising event in September to benefit St. Jude's Mission. The one date event will be a combined effort consisting of Rhodes Softball and the Rhodes' Tri-Delta Organization.

American Heart Association
Rhodes Softball orchestrated "Strike-Out Heart Disease" fundraiser where members of the Rhodes College community could donate funds to experience a "live" at-bat against our Lynx pitching staff.
Boys and Girls Club (Located in Memphis, TN)
Rhodes Softball teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club to offer aspiring females an opportunity to experience a collegiate softball practice. Members of the club attended practice and were paired up with current members of the team to learn tips on on taking their games to the next level.
2012-2013 Community Outreach
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Located in Memphis, TN)
Rhodes Softball formed a partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital holding an annual benefit weekend/tournament to assist in raising funds and awareness St. Jude's Mission.
Autism Speaks (Branch located in Memphis, TN)
The Lynx held a benefit game in the Fall of 2013 to raise awareness and funds for Autism Speaks, an organization "dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism."
Memphis VA Hospital (Located in Memphis, TN)
Rhodes held a benefit game to honor the brave men and women that have served in our nation's military. More specifically, the Lynx raised funds to donate to the Memphis VA Hospital - supporting the local chapter as they continue to assist veterans and their families.
2011-2012 Community Outreach
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Located in Memphis, TN):
Rhodes Softball formed a partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to begin holding an annual benefit weekend/tournament to assist in raising funds and awareness St. Jude's Mission.
In addition to the annual benefit tournament to be held at Rhodes College, players and coaches will be volunteering their time at St. Jude facilities when needed.
Komen for the Cure (Memphis Branch):
The softball program formed a partnership with Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer Awareness). "Pink the Park Day"Â was held at Rhodes College, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer in the Memphis area.
Cornerstone Prep (Charter School - Inner City Memphis):
The softball program has formed a partnership with Cornerstone Prep, an innovative charter school, pushing students to excel both in and out of the classroom. Cornerstone Prep is a very unique elementary school. The school structure, perspective, methods and systems are based on the best practices from high-performing schools across the country. These best practices, infused with character education that dominate the school culture, make Cornerstone Prep a distinctive institution. Members of the Lynx Softball team tutors students and assists staff during lunch hours.
