The Lynx opened the season at Sewanee, finishing 3rd of 16 teams, behind Emory University and Centre College. Junior Colin Strickland led the team with his 8th place finish out of 163 competitors. His time of 27:18 was 5 seconds slower than his all-time best on the Sewanee course. Nick Lewis and Matthew Sauter also broke 28 minutes, finishing 15th in 27:39 and 16th in 27:49, respectively. Sauter's time was 65 seconds better than his 2003 performance at Sewanee. Seniors Todd Ridley and Matt Wood finished the scoring for the Lynx. Ridley took 19th in 28:04 and Wood was 21st in 28:08. Scott Barrows and Will Sheftall rounded out the Lynx top 7, placing 23rd and 25th overall. The first 9 Lynx athletes broke 29 minutes at the meet, compared to just the first 5 in 2003.
