Senior Bill Harrison was the top finisher for the Rhodes men's cross country team, as they finished second at the Bob Gravett Invitational at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The Lynx brought only a partial squad to the meet, while the team's top runners remained in Memphis to train. Division II Harding University won the meet handily, taking the top five individual spots. Rhodes finished second, five points ahead of Hendrix College. Six teams competed. Harding's Jacob Rotich cruised to the individual title in 24:37 on the flat course.
Harrison finished 10th overall in 28:13, leading a slew of Lynx runners under 30 minutes. Sophomores Tripp Hullender and Todd Ridley, and freshmen David Bell and John Mowrey placed 13th, 14th, 15th, and 17th, respectively, as all finished between 29:16 and 29:32. Casey Conley and Ryan Call also dipped under the 30-minute barrier, rounding out the Lynx top seven by taking 18th and 19th places.
