Game Recap: Game 1 vs Sewanee 
The Rhodes College softball team powered past Sewanee, 9–4, on March 21 in Sewanee, Tenn., using a big fourth inning to create separation and secure the road victory.

The Lynx struck quickly in the first, as Harper Allee-Press doubled to drive in Athena Gonzales before Isabela Barber followed with an RBI single to make it 2–0. Sewanee answered with a run of its own, but Rhodes maintained control throughout.

The turning point came in the fourth inning, where Rhodes exploded for four runs. Emma Whittington and Kaitlyn Sun delivered key RBI hits, while aggressive baserunning—including a steal and run scored by Katie Bejian—helped extend the lead to 6–1.

Sewanee chipped away with two runs in the fifth, but Rhodes responded late. A sacrifice fly from Barber and a clutch two-RBI double from Bejian in the seventh inning provided insurance and put the game out of reach.

Key Performances
Rhodes' offense was fueled by timely hitting and production throughout the lineup, with multiple Lynx delivering in key moments. Katie Bejian paced the Lynx with a clutch performance, going 2-for-4 with a game-high two RBIs, including a pivotal two-run double in the seventh inning. She also added a stolen base and scored a run, impacting the game in multiple ways.

Isabela Barber continued her consistent offensive presence, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a sacrifice fly, driving in runs in both the opening and closing innings. Kaitlyn Sun delivered the biggest swing of the fourth inning, ripping a two-RBI double down the line to help break the game open and extend Rhodes' lead.

Harper Allee-Press set the tone early, doubling in the first inning to bring home the game's opening run and finishing with two runs scored. The Rhodes College softball team used an explosive offensive performance to defeat Sewanee, 15–8, securing the series win behind a dominant showing at the plate.
Sewanee struck first in the opening inning, but Rhodes responded in the third with a three-run frame highlighted by a two-RBI single from Harper Allee-Press to take a 3–1 lead. The Tigers answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to briefly regain control.

Rhodes quickly flipped the momentum for good in the fourth inning, erupting for six runs. Capitalizing on defensive miscues and timely hitting, the Lynx strung together quality at-bats to reclaim a 9–5 advantage. After Sewanee pulled within one on a three-run home run in the fifth, Rhodes continued to apply pressure. An RBI double from Kate Ledlie in the sixth extended the lead before the Lynx put the game out of reach in the seventh. A pair of RBI singles from Athena Gonzales and Kaitlyn Sun, followed by a two-run home run from Isabela Barber, capped off a five-run seventh inning and sealed the 15–8 victory.

The Rhodes College softball team jumped out to an early lead but was unable to hold off Sewanee, falling 4–3. Rhodes wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues to plate three runs.

Harper Allee-Press delivered an RBI single to open the scoring, while Isabela Barber and Emily Pertuit each drove in runs to give the Lynx a 3–0 advantage. Sewanee responded in the second inning with a pair of runs, using timely hitting and a sacrifice fly to cut into the deficit. The Tigers continued to chip away in the third, tying the game at 3–3.

After several quiet innings, Sewanee took the lead in the fifth on an RBI single, going ahead 4–3.
Rhodes threatened late but was unable to push across the tying run, as Sewanee's pitching staff held the Lynx to just three runs on six hits over the contest.

Despite the loss, Rhodes saw strong contributions at the plate and in the circle. Emily Pertuit led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI, providing one of the Lynx's most consistent presences at the plate. Harper Allee-Press added an RBI single in the first inning and scored a run, helping Rhodes build its early lead. Athena Gonzales reached base and scored a run while also contributing defensively. Isabela Barber drew a walk and scored, continuing to apply pressure on the basepaths. In the circle, Gina Dudley took the loss despite a solid outing, allowing just two earned runs over four innings while keeping the Lynx within striking distance. Taylor Petty provided two innings of relief, allowing two runs while recording a pair of strikeouts.
