The Rhodes College Women's Golf Team has achieved a significant milestone, earning a No. 20 national ranking, further solidifying their position as one of the top programs in NCAA Division III. Additionally, standout golfer Ava Bankston has earned individual recognition, ranking 28th in the nation.
This achievement reflects the team's consistent performance throughout the season, including their impressive 5th-place finish at the highly competitive Jekyll Island Collegiate. The Lynx showcased resilience and skill, finishing ahead of several nationally ranked teams such as No. 9 NYU, No. 11 Amherst, No. 13 Randolph-Macon, No. 15 Washington & Lee, No. 17 Denison (T), No. 19 Redlands, No. 23 Methodist, and No. 24 Christopher Newport. Their ability to compete closely with the top five nationally ranked teams further emphasizes their strength on the national stage.
Bankston's individual ranking highlights her dedication and skill, which were on full display at Jekyll Island, where she finished tied for 12th after an impressive final round of even-par 72. Her consistent performances throughout the season have made her one of the top competitors at the DIII level.
