MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rhodes Athletics is pleased to announce Hannah Lott as the new Head Field Hockey Coach. Lott brings over a decade of coaching and athletic administration experience, making her a valuable addition to the Lynx athletics community.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hannah to the Lynx family," said Jim Duncan, Director of Athletics. "Her leadership experience as a head coach and athletics administrator at a high-academic institution will be an asset to our program. As a former Division III student-athlete, she fully embraces the Rhodes Athletics commitment to excellence in academics, competition, and community engagement. Throughout the interview process, our search committee was impressed by her vision, passion, and dedication to fostering a strong team culture."

Lott joins Rhodes after nearly 11 years at Sweet Briar College, where she served as Head Field Hockey Coach and various administrator positions. Her tenure at Sweet Briar saw significant program growth, including a dramatic improvement in the team's win-loss record, expanded recruiting efforts, and a renewed commitment to leadership development among student-athletes.

Lott's impact on the field hockey program at Sweet Briar was equally impressive. Under her leadership, the team grew from a roster of 14 to 26 players, requiring a tryout process for the first time in years. She developed a recruitment pipeline that spanned 15 states and multiple countries, fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture. In 2021, she was named CSAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year after leading her team to its first postseason appearance in 13 years and achieving the program's best record in two decades.

A former standout student-athlete, Lott played collegiately at Washington & Jefferson College, where she helped secure an Empire 8 Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Her experience as a player and coach has shaped her holistic approach to developing student-athletes, emphasizing academic achievement, athletic excellence, and leadership growth.

Lott expressed her enthusiasm for joining Rhodes: "I want to thank Director of Athletics Jim Duncan and Deputy Director Kim House for this incredible opportunity. The energy and commitment to excellence at Rhodes are palpable, and I am excited to contribute to the already strong championship culture. After meeting the team, I am eager to begin working with these dedicated student-athletes. Their competitive spirit and drive are inspiring, and I look forward to pushing them to new heights both on and off the field."

Lott will officially assume her role as Head Field Hockey Coach at Rhodes College on March 10, 2025.
