ATLANTA, Ga. (May 13, 2022) - The Southern Athletic Association released the All-Conference teams, as voted on by the head coaches of each member institution. Rhodes is represented by Daniell Trudell on the first team,
Justin Bobo on the second team, and
Gabe Williams as an honorable mention.
SAA Release
Trudell was a bright spot for the Lynx all season, leading the team from first position singles. The Kenner, Louisiana native played all twenty of his singles matches from the top spot, finishing with a 12-8 record, by far the most singles wins on the team. Two of his wins came against Division-II opponents, while also posting three wins against SAA competition. Alongside teammate
David Phillips, Trudell also added seven doubles wins from position one to his resume.
Bobo made an instant impact in his first year on campus. He was slotted into second singles for 18 of his 19 matches, where he took home seven wins. Most importantly, he was 4-2 against SAA opponents. His first career win came against Bethel on February 20th, with his top performance coming on March 5 against Webster in a 6-0, 6-0 straight set sweep. Bobo won five of his last seven singles matches of the year. The Jacksonville native also added eight wins in doubles play alongside
Gabe Williams and
Owen Kohler.
Speaking of Williams, he finished with an impressive ten wins in singles play, the second-most on the Rhodes team. All ten of his victories came from position three, where he finished 10-10 on the year. The sophomore was a grinder, with six of his singles wins going three sets. He had three conference wins over Hendrix, Berry and Birmingham Southern. Williams also added seven doubles wins for the Lynx.
