Rhodes College athletics had three Lynx honored with SAA weekly honors, as announced by the Southern Athletic Association on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Rhodes women's lacrosse swept offensive and defensive honors while senior Lauren King represented Rhodes softball with Player of the Week honors.

Payton Bennett - Her second Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, Bennett tied Rhodes' program record after totaling a career-high 11 points against Hendrix on Saturday. The junior recorded five goals, including the game-winner, and a career-high six assists. Bennett's accuracy was on point as her five goals came on seven shots. She also didn't commit any turnovers, notched a caused turnover, and tallied two ground balls.

Avery Burke - Her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor, Burke's presence on the ride and in transition was paramount as the Rhodes defense limited the Warriors to just 10 shots in the game. Rhodes' defense forced Hendrix to commit 21 turnovers as the Warriors converted just 7-of-17 clear attempts in the first half. Burke, a midfielder, held steadfast in one-v-one defense, tallied the game-high three caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Lauren King - King averaged .714 at the plate going 10-for-14 as the Lynx finished the regular season 2-2 against Hendrix. She started at third base in three of the four games, earning two or more hits in each game and a multi-base hit in three games as well. In game one, King was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.

On the weekend she totaled six RBI (two in each of the first three games) and crossed home six times. She slugged 1.357 after half of her hits were for two or more bases. King tallied two doubles, two triples, a home run, walked once, and stole a base. She also recorded a .733 on-base percentage and struck out zero times in 15 plate appearances.

She also started the series in the circle and earned the win after shutting out the Warriors across six innings with four strikeouts and only four hits.
