MEMPHIS - The 2019-20 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Track & Field and Cross Country teams, as selected by CoSIDA, has been announced. The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes student-athletes for both their academic and athletic performances. Within NCAA Division III, the Academic All-District teams are divided into eight districts as Sports Information Directors within their respective district vote for the high-caliber award. Rhodes has three of the 20 student-athletes representing NCAA Div. III District Five (AL, AR, FL, GA, MO, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, VA) earning the honor.

Sara Kate Capel, Toler Freyaldenhoven and Elise Moix picked up CoSIDA Academic All-District honors this year. This marks the first CoSIDA Academic All-District honor for both Capel and Moix.

Freyaldenhoven, a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major and Conway, Ark. native, has garnered the honor for the third straight year. He has qualified for cross country nationals each season and is the first All-American in program and SAA history. Achieving a 3.92 cumulative GPA, Freyaldenhoven finished his cross country career with back-to-back SAA Runner of the Year honors, and helped guide the Lynx to their team's highest finish at the National Championships in 2018 (17th). Freyaldenhoven is also a three-time All-Region performer in cross country and two-time SAA individual track and field champion (1500m, 10k). He's earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors and SAA Academic Honor Roll honors all four years and is a two-time team captain.

Capel, a Barrington, Ill. native and Spanish major, has participated in track all four years, swimming two seasons and also ran cross country in 2018. Recently she earned Rhodes' top athletic honor for a senior's career, earning the Rebecca Rish Gay award, while completing her undergraduate degree with a 3.65 cumulative GPA. Capel is a two-time NCAA national qualifier in the high jump, has garnered 18 All-SAA honors in track & field and swimming, is an eight-time SAA track & field individual champion and five-time track & field All-Region performer. Capel was the 2018 SAA Track Performer of the Meet accumulating 36.5 points, has been named to the SAA All-Sportsmanship team and was also a two-time track captain.

Moix, a Conway, Ark. native and Neuroscience major, graduated with a 3.92 cumulative GPA after garnering the Rhodes Athletics Seidman award for outstanding accomplishments both in the classroom and on the athletic field. She was named Outstanding Senior in Neuroscience, was a three-year captain, and a 2016 NCAA Cross Country National Qualifier. Moix twice earned All-Region honors in cross country, earned five All-SAA honors in both cross country and track & field, and is a member of the Biology Honor Society and Neuroscience Honor Society. She has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors, has been on the Dean's List and has held internships with Methodist and LeBonheur Children's Medical while also guiding the Lynx to help kids with Autism by co-founding the Little Lynx Running Club.

To be eligible for nomination to the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or an important reserve.
