Chattanooga, Tenn. - Rhodes College softball found themselves down 3-0 before junior
Jill Healy lofted a grand slam the opposite way to right field to give Rhodes a one-run edge in the third inning. No. 3-seeded Hendrix scored two runs on two doubles their next time at-bat before the Lynx tallied three runs to re-gain the lead for good.
In the fourth inning, with two outs,
Kendall Henry roped in
Caroline Reilly who singled to lead off the bottom half of the inning. Healy then secured two more RBI on a single to left to end scoring for the Lynx. Hendrix picked up a lone run in the sixth off yet another double but the Lynx held out to extend their season.
Healy finished with six of Rhodes' seven RBI as she went two-of-three on the day.
Kirsten Samuels was the only other Lynx to have a multi-hit day, going two-of-four.
Karrah Flores added a sac bunt in the fourth and
Allison Long pitched five innings to pick up the win.
Originally scheduled for 2pm, Rhodes will now play Millsaps at noon ET on Saturday inside Frost Stadium.
