Despite controlling play and dominating possession for the majority fo the game the Lynx lost a 2-1 decision to SUNY New Paltz (7-7) at Trinity.  Rhodes was unable to find the back of the cage on 5 consecutive penalty corner opportunities midway through the first half and New Paltz countered quickly and entered half time up 1-0.  The Lynx had many early second half chances, but again got stung by the Hawks counterattack early in the second half to find themselves down 2-0 with twenty five minutes to play.  Rhodes produced 15 shots in 70 minutes of play, forcing SUNY goalkeeper to make 5 saves on the game.  The Lynx put on a strong push late and scored just after a time out with six minutes to go.  Katie Faucher drove the endline and hit Kat Simpson on the run who was able to knock one past the New Paltz goalkeeper.  Rhodes pressured hard and generated several shots in the last few minutes but the Lynx were unable to win a penalty corner opportunity or score a second goal.  In goal for the Lynx, Kelly Whelan notched 4 saves against the New Paltz offense.  After returning home Rhodes (6-6, 2-1 SCAC) will look ahead to a conference game at Hendrix on Saturday at 1 pm.
