Kelli Zomer, a sophomore outfielder from Grand Rapids, MI, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 22 through Sunday, February 28.
Zomer hit .429 on the weekend, including a 3 for 4 performance against Hendrix on Sunday in which she homered, scored 3 runs and had 2 RBI while reaching base all 4 times. Her home run to lead off the game set the tone for the Lynx 5-run first inning that propelled the team to an 8-0 victory.
In Saturday's loss to #7 Washington University, Zomer's 3-run double in the bottom of the 7th capped off a 5-run, 2 out rally that tied the game and forced extra innings. She was 3 for 4 with a walk, a double and 2 runs scored in the game to pace the Lynx offense. On the week, she hit .429 (6 for 14) with a double, a home run and 5 RBI, while posting a .533 OB%. Zomer and the Lynx return to action this weekend at the Rhodes College Classic, and will host Lagrange, Millikin, and Berry.
