Lynx Fall to Oglethorpe 6-5

The Rhodes College baseball team fell to Oglethorpe University this evening in Atlanta, GA 6-5 in 10 innings.  Rhodes jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, however OU countered with 3 in thier half of the inning.  Rhodes narrowed the gap with a single run in the 4th and took a 5-3 in the top of the 5th on a 3 run homer by senior Mason Mosby.  Oglethope contined to chip away the rest of the game, tying it at 5 a piece in the 8th and won the game in the bottom of the 10th.  Rhodes now falls to 19-12 on the season.

Senior Andy Holt worked the first 7.1 innings allowing 3 earned runs, 6 hits, no walks, and struck out 6.  Sophomore Taylor Babich relieved Holt working 2.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run, 1 walk, and struck out 4.

Senior 3B Mason Mosby contined to pace the Lynx offense going 2-4 with a homerun, 4 RBIs, and a run scored.  Freshman CF Travis Perkins was 2-5 with a stolen base.

Rhodes will return to action tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 against Oglethorpe
