Box Score

The Rhodes College baseball team defeated Centre College 7-6 this afternoon at Stauffer Field.  Senior SS J.R. Bizzell drove in the winning runs with a bases loaded two out double in the bottom of the ninth.  Sophomore Taylor Babich picked up the victory after relieving starter Andy Holt.  The Lynx improve to 18-10 (2-2 SCAC) on the season.

Senior Andy Holt started the game for the Lynx on the mound and worked the first 7.1 innings before giving way to sophomore Taylor Babich.  On the day, Holt surrendered 10 hits, 6 runs, 5 earned, struck out 7 and walked 2.  Babich did not allow a run or a hit in his outing, but did allow 2 walks.  Babich is now 5-4 on the year.

The Lynx offense was led by Senior 3B Mason Mosby who was 4-5 on the day with a double, and 2 runs scored.  Senior SS J.R. Bizzell was 3-6 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, scored a run, and stole a base.  Sophomore DH Chris Conkell was 3-5 with a double and a run scored.  Sophomore 1B Brogan Jayne was 3-5 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Junior 2B Brooks Royer was 2-4 with a run scored and got hit by a pitch.

Rhodes will finish out their conference weekend with Centre tomorrow with a double header starting at 11:00.
