Sophomore Allison Conn doubled in the top of the first to score Freshman Caroline Cooper and give the Lynx a 1-0 lead over Emory, a lead the Lynx would hold until the bottom of the 4th inning behind a strong pitching performace from Sophomore Sara Bowen.

Emory's bats came alive in the 4th, as the Eagles used 3 hits and 3 Lynx errors to take a 3-1 lead. Junior Armanda Venezia and Freshman Elise Suna each singled to lead off the Lynx half of the 5th and the Lynx appeared ready to rally, but they were unable to take advantage of the situation, allowing Emory to hold their 3-1 lead.

Emory would carry that momentum into the bottom of the 5th, when they pounded 4 hits and took advantage of 2 more Lynx errors to score 5 runs and cruise to a 9-1 victory in a game called after 5 innings.
