Seniors Kristen Lee and Meghan Cullen joined juniors Lindsey Gurkovich and Charlie Wagner on the 2009 All SCAC Field Hockey Squad.  The Lynx (13-4, 7-1 SCAC) accounted for a third of the 12 positions and also added two, Libby Feaster and Sara Sanders, as SCAC Honorable Mention selections.  In addition, fifth year head coach Jane Wells was chosen by her peers as 2009 SCAC Coach of the Year.

Lee and Cullen led a defense that finished the season as #12 nationally in goals against average at 1.05.  With Wagner and Sanders' help these two stopped 119 of 122 attempts by opponents on penalty corners.  Cullen finished the season ranked first in the conference in goals against average (1.08, #15 nationally) and save percentage (.862, #5 nationally).  Lee was selected to All SCAC and as SCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2006 while the All SCAC recognition is for the first time for Cullen.

Lindsey Gurkovich and Charlie Wagner were the top two point producers for Rhodes this year, earning 26 and 19 points respectively.  Both juniors were members of the All SCAC team as sophomores and Wagner as a freshman as well.  Lindsey led the conference in assist with 10 and finished the year ranked #17 in assists per game at .58.  Lindsey set a new program record for single season assists and is currently third in career and single season goals, career points, tied for second in career assists and single season points.

All four players were honored as SCAC Player of the Week at some point in 2009 with Wagner being the first Rhodes player to earn both SCAC Offensive Player of the Week and SCAC Defensive Player of the Week in the same season.  Charlie also was selected to the womensfieldhockey.com Honor Roll twice this fall.  Rhodes' 13-4 record set new marks for the program for number of wins in a season and winning percentage.
