Christy Siegel followed up her first round 82 with another 82 to shoot 164 and tie for 7th in the Rhodes Classic.  Katie Dale (80-77)  from Oglethorpe and Katie McKenna (78-79) from Centre tied for medalist with a two-day total of 157.  Birmingham Southern won the team competition for the 2nd year in a row by shooting 333-322=655.  East Central Oklahoma shot 338-330=668 to take runner-up honors.  The Lynx (374-367) tied for 5th with Berry College.

"Tunica National is the toughest course we play all year.  The fairways and greens are heavily bunkered and water comes into play on about half the holes," said Rhodes head coach Mike Clary.
"Christy Siegel has the ability to be one of the top players in the SCAC.  As well as Christy played the past two days, she still left some shots out on the course," said Coach Clary.  "Christy has to decide if she wants to be good or real good.  If she wants to be real good then she must keep up her practice in November, December and January before we resume team practice in mid-February."

Nicole Jones improved on her first round score by posting a 91 in the 2nd round.  "Nicole's a better player than she was this time last year, but her game is just now rounding into shape due to not playing any this summer (abroad in Spain).   As a Co-Captain, Nicole must lead by example and continue with her practice and play the next three months," said Coach Clary.

Allie Bankart was introduced to Tunica National the past two days and struggled with her first tournament on the course.  "Scoring well at Tunica National is about aiming points, leaving your ball in the right places, solid putting and not letting the bunkers and water play with your mind,"  said Coach Clary.  "Allie is a great addition to our team.  She'll work hard the next three months and I'm looking for Allie to have a great spring."

"It was great having Maddie Callis back with the team this fall," said Coach Clary.  "Maddie really played well considering she hadn't picked up a club in a year."

Catherine Casey played in her first tournament this year and improved two strokes from her first round score.

Lynx All American Stephanie Mingos had to miss the Rhodes Classic due to ongoing rehab with her back.  "The prognosis for Stephanie's back looks good.  She'll likely start swinging a golf club again in early December and she'll be ready to go for our first competition in late February," said Coach Clary.
