The Rhodes Men's Soccer team defeated visiting Williams Baptist College 6-2 on Friday.

18 minutes into the game, the Lynx were down 2 goals. Jorge Mojica scored in the 16th minute, and then 2 minutes later Luis Ramirez scored the second for WBC.

However, the Lynx would come storming back scoring 3 unanswered goals to close the fist half 3-2. Matt Averill scored the first goal in the 30th minute from a shot near the corner of the field. Then less than 2 minutes later Averill found Logan Eberly with a cross to tie the game. In the 44th minute Ilan Isaacs finished a rebound in the box to give Rhodes the 3-2 lead.

The Lynx continued their momentum swing once the second half began. Brett Simek would convert a penalty kick 2:08 into the second half. Then in the 54th minute Michael Rubin would thread a great pass to Logan Eberly for his second goal of the game. Rhodes finished the scoring with a long assist from Simek to Zac Berry in the 79th minute.

Alex Margolin made 2 saves to keep WBC of the scorers sheet in the second half. The Lynx out shot WBC 24 to 8 and also lead in corners 11 to 2.

Next Rhodes College travels to St. Louis, MO to face Maryville University on Friday 9/12/08 and also Sunday 9/14/08 at Webster University. Game times are set for 3 pm and 1 pm respectively.
