Will PItts posted good marks to place himself in second place after the first day of the decathlon held at Rhodes College. He took 4th in the 100, 2nd in the long jump, 3rd in the shot put, 1st in the high jump and 4th in the 400 meters to end up at 2965 pts.

 
The leader, Andrew Bloom of Ohio Wesleyan is currently at 3042 pts. He took 1st in the 100 meters and the long jump. Coming in third after the first day was John Schultz of Birmingham Southern with 2783 pts. Ending in 4th at the end of day one was Kurt Lockhart of Vanderbilt's track club at 2723 pts. In 5th at the end of day one is Alex Havran from Ohio Wesleyan at 2443 pts.
