The Rhodes softball team swept a doubleheader from Rust College this afternoon by scores of 20-0 and 21-0.  In game 1, Senior Dana Bartolomei tossed the second perfect game of her career, striking out all 15 Bearcat hitters she faced.  In game 2, Freshman Sara Bowen tossed her first career no-hitter, striking out 8 and walking 2. 

Bartolomei also finished  game 1 a perfect 3-3 at the plate, scoring 3 runs and driving in 2, while fellow Senior Amanda Lutzy was 3-4 with 3 RBI.  Sophomores Armanda Venezia and Jennifer Whatley each  picked up a pair of hits for the Lynx, while Freshman Olivia Ryan was 2-2 with 4 RBI.

In addition to the no-hitter in game 2, Bowen helped her own cause by going 4-4 with a pair of doubles, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI to pace the Lynx offense.  Venezia and Whatley each had 3 hits for the Lynx, while Senior Savannah Deaton and Sophomore Lindsey Calder had 2 hits a piece.

Rhodes returns to action this weekend with a key 4-game conference series against SCAC rival Hendrix College in Conway, AR.
