Youth will dominate the 2008 Rhodes Men's Tennis Team. With one senior, the Lynx will rely on one junior and several freshmen and sophomores this season. Led by senior captain Matt Ricke, the team will be tested by its opening match with Division I University of Memphis. Pre-season, the Lynx are ranked #6 in the Atlantic South Region and #24 in the nation. Last year, Rhodes graduated three of its top four players, which presents young players with the opportunity to gain experience. Competition for the top spots will be between juniors Jonathon Moreno, Tyler Snedden, and freshmen Grayson Lucas and Rob Koehler. The Lynx will have more experience at the bottom with Matt Ricke and junior Matt Westbrook. Competing for the 'traveling 8' will be sophomores Stephen Juel, Alex Price, Andrew Alexander, and junior Kenneth Haggerty.

Doubles will be a key to the Lynx success. Due to the graduation of former players, all doubles combinations will be completely new. Early matches will provide the opportunity for different combinations.

The Lynx spring schedule will be demanding. Following the University of Memphis match, the team travels to Hendrix for conference matches against Colorado College and Birmingham Southern. A spring trip to Texas will provide competition from western teams UT Tyler and Hardin Simmons. The Rhodes Invitational will feature LeTourneau from Texas and Mississippi College, and conference teams Hendrix, Center, and Oglethorpe University. From the midwest, the team will travel to St. Louis for matches against nationally ranked teams, Washington University and Coe College.
