On the tail end of a western SCAC travel weekend the Rhodes Lynx faced off against the 'Roos of Austin College. With the win the Lynx improve to 10-6-1 and 4-5 in the SCAC. The victory guarantees the Lynx a winning season.
The Lynx found themselves with the early lead when Senior Patrick Deveau crossed a ball in to the box that was finished by Sophomore Eric Stradley in the 5th minute. The 'Roos would fight back to level when Grant Gibson found Jason Replogle in the 29th minute. The Lynx would then score two goals to close out the half 3-1. Deveau would set up the second goal when he found Junior Logan Eberly in the 33rd minute. Deveau would then score himself off a cross from Junior Matt Childs in the 43rd minute.
Austin College would begin the first half with a flurry of attacks. The 'Roos would pull on back in the 49th when Miles Vaughn would find Luis Castillo.
Rhodes was able to respond in the 60th minute when Junior Zac Berry finished a Matt Averill cross. Less than 4 minutes later the 'Roos would score again to make it 4-3. Alex Dawson would find Garrett Evans for the score. The Lynx would get the final goal of the game 2 minutes later. Eberly would score his 2nd goal of the game with the helper from Zac Berry.
Both teams would finish with 16 shots.
The Lynx look to finish the 2008 campaign with two home games this coming weekend against Birmingham Southern College and Millsaps College.
