11/15/2008 6:10:15 PM

Rhodes senior cornerback Tom Oliver (Austin, TX) provided the spark the Lynx needed with a 32 yard interception return for a touchdown that put Rhodes up 7-0 with 14:33 remaining in the second quarter, and the Lynx would not relinquish the lead as they rolled to a 17-0 win over the University of the South at Sewanee, TN.

Oliver had two interceptions on the day as the Lynx limited the Tigers to 187 yards of total offense and recorded their first shutout of the 2008 season. Senior linebacker Mason Mosby (Hernando, MS) also picked off a Tiger pass and led all defenders with 10 tackles (8 solo).

Rhodes dominated the line of scrimmage, having two running backs go over the 100 yard mark. Senior Charles Hoggard (Greenville, NC) had a season high 170 yards rushing  and junior Josh McMurray (College Grove, TN) added 102 yards on the ground.

Freshman quarterback Brett Stoots (Brownsville, TN)  hit sophomore wide receiver Matt Gilbert (Germantown, TN) on a 16 yard scoring strike to give the Lynx a 14-0 lead early in the third quarter. Rhodes finishes the season at 4-6 overall, winning their third consecutive Orgill Cup.
