The 19th ranked Rhodes Women's Soccer team defeated the Hendrix College Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Homecoming Saturday, October 4, 2008. The win was the Lynx' 7th shutout of the season. Rhodes got goals from Alice Hilgart and Julia Clapper and improve to 8-2-1 in 2008 - 4-1 in SCAC play.

The Lynx scored their first goal of the day in the first half, just 3 minutes shy of halftime. Rhodes junior forward Karli Alvino was fouled near the top of the Hendrix penalty area and on the resulting free kick, sophomore Alice Hilgart struck the ball over the Warrior wall and into the net to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead heading into the half.

Late in the second half freshman midfielder Zoe Clark sent a ball into the Hendrix penalty area and freshman forward Julia Clapper slotted the ball into the net to complete the scoring and give the Lynx the 2-0 victory.

The shutout was shared by junior goalkeeper Becca Clarin and freshman Stephanie Sermonet.

Rhodes will travel to SCAC rival Centre College in Danville, KY for a 6pm kick off on Friday, October 10, 2008 and then travel on to Greencastle, IN to take on DePauw University on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 2:00pm.
