10/13/2008 4:33:00 PM

The 17th ranked Rhodes Women's Soccer team defeated the Tigers of DePauw University by a score of 1-0 in Greencastle, IN on Sunday, October 12, 2008 to maintain their place atop of the SCAC standings. Senior midfielder Diana Buss headed in sophomore forward Allison Price's cross in the 72nd minute to give the Lynx the victory.

Much like the Centre game before it, the game against DePauw saw both teams battle to try and gain an advantage but the Lynx defense and goalkeeper Becca Clarin kept the Tigers at bay.

In the second half the Lynx found their rhythm and began to generate some offense. Midway through the 2nd half junior defender Colleen Callaghan rifled a shot off the cross bar from 25 yards that deflected within inches of crossing the goal line. A few minutes later Allison Price gathered a ball on the left flank and sent it into the DePauw penalty area where Diana Buss was waiting to head it past the Tiger's goalkeeper. The Lynx have created a balanced scoring attack in 2008 with 18 goals being scored by 9 different players, but Diana Buss leads all scorers with 3 goals.

The shutout was the Lynx 9th of the season and 6th in conference play. Rhodes improves to 10-2-1 in 2008, 6-1 in SCAC play and will not play until they travel to St. Louis to take on the Bears of Washington University on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 9:30am.
