The Lynx earned their first win of the season after dominating play in their game this afternoon against the Bearcats of St. Vincent.
The Lynx controlled the pace of the match, out shooting the Bearcats 28-3 on the game. Stingy defense and good goalkeeping for St. Vincent kept the Lynx off the scoreboard until the 6:57 mark of the first half. Senior Katie Slimp scored her first goal of the season off of an assist from freshman Libby Feaster. The Lynx second goal came just 10 minutes into the second half on a shot from the top from freshman Charlie Wagner, who was assisted by freshman defender Rachel Webb. The Lynx had 12 penalty corners to St. Vincent's 3. Julz Anderson and Meghan Cullen combined for 3 saves in goal for the Lynx first shut out while St. Vincent goalie Jaqueline Novale recorded 12 saves for the Beatcats.
The Lynx face regional rival Kenyon at University of Louisville's Trager Stadium tomorrow at 11 am eastern time.
