Field Hockey loses to Centre in strokes

The Lynx started off slow today getting out shot by Centre 16 - 3 in the first half of their conference opener at home.  Cynthia Morse scored the lone first half goal for the Colonels just 9 minutes into play.  After half time adjustments the Lynx rallied to tie the score on a goal by freshman Erin Atmar with 19 minutes left to play.  Two minutes later the Lynx took the lead on a goal by freshman Charlie Wagner.  Sally Faulkner tied the game for Centre with just 2:54 to play.  Both team battled through two scoreless overtime periods and Centre prevailed in penalty strokes.

On the game Centre out shot Rhodes 28-22 and the Colonels held a 13-6 advantage in penalty corners.  Julz Anderson and Meghan Cullen combined for 11 saves on the game for the Lynx while Centre's keeper Ann Guagliardo recorded 14.  The Lynx will line up against conference rival Sewanee tomorrow at 3 pm.
