The Lynx started strong and never looked back today against first year team Hendrix. The Lynx scored 2 goals in the first ten minutes of play and continued to push, finishing the game at 9-0. The Lynx defense looked strong allowing only 3 shots on several good runs for Hendrix.
The Lynx offensive efforts were lead by freshman Erin Atmar, a right wing from Houston, TX (Kinkaid). Erin scored three goals on six shots today, bringing her season total to four goals. Freshman Lindsey Gurkovich from Eldersburg, MD (Century) scored two goals on three shots at left wing for the Lynx today to add to her game winner last weekend versus Kenyon. Seniors Jenny Mueller, Katie Slimp, and O'Brien Wolff all scored for the Lynx today, Wolff's goal was the first of her career as a Lynx. Freshman Hillary Relyea from Fort Worth, TX (Fort Worth Country Day) scored the last goal of the day on a cross from freshman Kelly Kriegshauser. Other assists went to Jenny Mueller, Libby Feaster, Maria Cowley, Katie Slimp (3), and Sara Haney. The Lynx offensive efforts were supported by strong midfield and defensive play throughout the game.
The Lynx out shot the Warriors 29-3 and held a 13-2 advantage in penalty corners. Sophomores Julz Anderson and Meghan Cullen combined for the shut out for the Lynx with one save each on the day. Alyssa Havens had 16 saves in goal for Hendrix. The Lynx with take on the Pioneers of Transylvania tomorrow at 11 am at home.
