11/2/2007 5:53:19 PM

The Rhodes women's soccer team ended their 2007 season with a scoreless tie at home against Austin College on Friday, November 11, 2007.

Rhodes dodged a bullet when the referee called a penalty kick with just under 8 minutes remaining in regulation which the Kangaroos were unable to convert when the resulting shot hit the post and bounced out of trouble.

Despite a 14-9 advantage in shots, the Lynx were unable to score during the 110 minutes of play.

Sophomore goalkeeper Becca Clarin and the Lynx defense recorded their 10 shutout of the season.

The Lynx finish the season with a 3rd place finish in the SCAC with a conference record of 5-2-2 and an overall record of 11-6-2 in 2007.

Rhodes also honored the two seniors on this year's women's team who played their final game at Rhodes against Austin College to help the Lynx finish the season with an overall record of 11-6-2, and a 3rd place finish in the SCAC with a conference record of 5-2-2.

A defender from Austin, Texas, #7, Kendra McColloch

Since walking-on to the team as a sophomore in the fall of that same year, Kendra has played in 47 games as a defender for the Lynx. Her relentless effort on the field has saved the team on a number of occasions and that effort has more than translated into the classroom. She is a perennial member of the Rhodes Honor Roll and is a two time SCAC Academic Honor Roll member and will earn the award again this season as she has consistently maintained the highest grade point average on the team. She has been named to Omicron Delta Epsilon - the Economics Honor Society, and Chi Alpha Sigma – the athletics honor society. She has been instrumental in the improvement of the program, helping to leave it in much better shape than she found it. Off the field, Caroline was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa – the Religious Studies Honor Society and is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority where she was awarded the Sarah Ida Shaw Award which goes to the member who most exemplifies the ideals of Tri-Delta.
