Cross Country Women 3rd at Georgia State

Team captain May King led the Lynx for the third meet in a row at the Georgia State Invitational in Atlanta. King placed 32nd out of 130 runners as the team finished 3rd out of 6 non-NCAA Division I teams at the meet. Emory University won the small school competition with a low score of 27 points, ahead of NAIA member Savannah College of Art and Design (43), and Rhodes (61). SCAD's Hilary White was the top non-NCAA Division I finisher, as she covered the hilly 6,000 meter course in a strong 21:46.

King finished in 24:04 in her first 6,000 meter race of the season. Courtney Cockerell was next for the Lynx, crossing the line 42nd in 24:27, just ahead of Rachel Simpson, who took 46th in 24:37. Nici Thomas and Lizzie Phillips closed out the team's scoring, placing 50th in 24:51 and 53rd in 24:56, respectively. Sara LaPlante and Jessye Bobinis rounded out the team's top 7 by finishing 68th and 73rd, respectively.
