Sophomore Nick Lewis raced for the first time in 6 weeks and led Rhodes to a 3rd place finish at the SCAC Championships in Conway, Arkansas. Lewis finished 11th out of 94 runners and earned All-SCAC honors in his first SCAC meet, as Rhodes scored 99 points and egded Sewanee (103) for third. DePauw set a conference record by scoring just 15 points en route to the SCAC title. Centre (54) was second ahead of Rhodes, Sewanee, and Southwestern (159) and Trinity (159), who tied for 5th overall. DePauw senior Jared Mann won the individual title with a time of 24:42 on the flat 8,000 meter course.
Lewis returned to action for the Lynx just in time for the post-season, as he rebounded from a leg injury in leading the team. His time of 25:32 was a personal best. Rhodes' 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th runners finished in a tight pack. The quartet was led by senior Heath Henderson who placed 20th in 26:03. John Harrison was next at 21st in the team scoring in 26:09. Senior Colin Strickland and freshman Mark Handelman closed out the Lynx scoring by placing 23rd and 24th, as both finished in 26:12. The team's spread of 40 seconds was their smallest of the season so far. Henderson and Harrison both set personal bests and managed career best SCAC Championships finishes. Strickland and Handelman also set personal bests, as Handelman was the meet's second first-year finisher. The team finished in the top 3 at the conference meet for the 15th time in head coach Robert Shankman's 16 year career at Rhodes. Lucas Warth and Scott Barrows rounded out the Lynx top 7 by placing 32nd and 38th in 26:49 and 27:15, respectively.
