Heath Henderson led the Lynx for the first time in his career, placing 18th out of 133 runners at the Rhodes Invitational at Plough Park in Memphis. Without the services of front-runner Nick Lewis, Rhodes placed 5th out of 13 complete teams. Jacksonville State won the meet with 45 points, behind the team's individual meet winner Josphat Waweru who covered the rolling 8,000 meter course in 25:42.
Henderson's time of 27:28 was just off his personal best on the course. After being buried at 70th place at the mile mark, Henderson and teammate Colin Strickland worked their way through the field. Strickland ran a season best time of 27:38 to place 21st as the team's second runner. Will Sheftall and Scott Barrows were next for Rhodes, placing 36th and 38th in 28:13 and 28:15, respectively. Mark Handelman scored as the Lynx fifth runner for the second straight meet, placing 43rd with a time of 28:29. Seniors John Harrison and Casey Conley, both Portland, Maine, natives from Cheverus High School, rounded out the team's top seven by placing 57th and 58th, respectively.
