While the Lynx top 9 runners stayed in Memphis to train, the team's other harriers traveled to Versailles, Kentucky, to compete in the Southeastern Classic. The challenging hilly and wet course made most runners' personal best times out of reach, but the group represented Rhodes well, combining to take 12th place of 22 teams at the meet and put 6 runners in the top half of the competitive field. Junior Rob Moore led the Lynx for the first time in his career, racing to 80th place among 228 athletes in a time of 28:57, just 22 seconds shy of his seasonal best. Dave Huntzinger was next, finishing 88th in 29:15. Casey Conley and Ryan Call placed 94th in 29:30 and 96th in 29:34, respectively. Will Corvey finished the Lynx scoring and cracked into the meet's top half by running 29:48 for 106th overall. Jeff Knowles and Tim Messagie rounded out the squad's top 7, placing 110th in 29:54 and 119th in 30:04, respectively. Robert Shreve finished a solid freshman year with his 131st placing in 30:17. Brad Whiteside and Blake Anderson were the final Lynx finishers at the meet, placing 152nd in 30:57 and 157th in 31:08, respectively.
