Men's Tennis Dominates Nazareth, Falls to Methodist

    Monday was a busy day for the Lynx. In their first match of the day against Nazareth, the Lynx swept the doubles. They continued their winning streak throughout the singles and ended the matches 9-0. Senior Sander Phelps led the team to victory, winning his match 6-2, 7-5 match in the #1 singles position. 
    While the men played exceptionally well, their second match against Methodist proved to be a challenge. The end result was incredibly close. Matt Plumley and Eliot Blatt won their #1 doubles match to keep Rhodes in the game, making the score 1-2 when entering singles. Rob Steinwedell was victorious in his third set tiebreaker (11-9) after saving 3 match points, bringing Rhodes to 2-2. Greyson Brilliant took the singles 6-4, 6-4 to put the Lynx up 3-2, while Blatt lost a tough match in a third set tiebreaker. Rhodes fell short on the other courts making the overall score 3-5. The men will continue their tournament tomorrow against Wheaton College in Hilton Head, SC.
