For the singles draw Rob Steinwedell lost to Emory player Jackson Isaacs 6-0, 6-3 in his first round match. Greyson Brillant lost to Emory player Will Admans 6-1, 6-3 in his first match. Sanders Phelps played a very tough match but lost a close one to a Mississippi college player Jacob Womack in a grueling 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 match. Alex Frey lost to Emory player Nicholas Szczurek 6-0, 6-0. Graham Sowden lost to Chris Wootton of Mississippi 6-2, 6-1. Kevin Sierra had a tough draw losing first round to Emory and a close match in the consolations to Centre.

Matt Plumley was a first round victor for Rhodes, defeating centre player Trey Williamson 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. In his second match Plumley faced the seven seed of the tournament and gave him all he could handle. Plumley lost 7-5, 7-5 after holding a 5-4 lead in the first and 4-3 lead in the second. The seven seed was just a bit tougher on the big points but Matt played high quality tennis all day.

Eliot Blatt is the last Lynx remaining in the main draw, winning 6-1, 6-1 in his first round and a tough fought 6-4, 6-4 in the second to put him into the round of 16 in singles. Eliot Blatt has had a great showing in his first collegiate competition so far. He will play for a spot in the quarterfinals but must defeat #2 overall seed in order to get there.

In doubles Eliot and Matt lost in the first round to a tough Methodist team 9-7. Sanders and Rob lost 8-6 in their first match to Oglethorpe but followed the loss up with a win in the back draw. Greyson and Graham had a tough draw facing a very strong Emory team and losing 8-3 and then winning the back draw match 8-4.

Eliot will take the court at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday while the rest of his Lynx teammates are playing doubles at 1:00 P.M.
