The Rhodes College Men's Golf Team shot a record-shattering 22 under par on the second day of the annual Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Tournamnet played on the Paradise Point golf courses at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in the Spring of 2004.
Rhodes opened the tournament on the par 72 Gold Course with a 6 over par team score of 294. Then the Rhodes quintet worked their magic on the par 70 Scarlet Course amassing 25 birdies and an eagle for a team total of 258.
Tournament sponsors confirmed that this was the lowest score ever posted in this tournaments' 33 year history.
Competitors and observers stared and commented in disbelief upon spotting Rhodes' numbers on the scoreboard.
John Jennison (Fr.) - 63 (7 under)
Chris Thompson (Jr.) - 65 (5 under)
Carter Lawnin (Fr.) - 65 (5 under)
Will Levy (Sr.) - 65 (5 under)

Rhodes Golf Coach
Bill Cochran was lost for words to describe what his team had just accomplished. "We played the back nine first, and turned at 3 under par as a team. Through 14 holes we stood at 8 under and I was starting to get excited, as I thought we have a good round going. Then it all happened. These four guys played the last four holes in fourteen under par, unbelievable!!"
Golfstat, (the record keeper for Collegiate Golf) confirms that this four man team total is the lowest for all Collegiate golf.
