Southwestern held the usually sharp-shooting Lynx to just 22 second half points and 22.8% shooting for the game to take the 63-46 SCAC victory Friday evening in Georgetown, TX.
After being down 17-7 to open the game, Rhodes closed the gap to two points, 26-24 as the halftime horn sounded.
The Lynx cold shooting woes continued as the 2nd half began and Southwestern built their lead to 35-24. A pair of Lynx free throws by Nate Ollie stopped the run, but Southwestern held the Lynx to just one additional point through the ten minute mark , building the lead to 16 points, 46-30.
Nate Ollie led the Lynx with 15 points and
Kory Kilpatrick chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Reid Hamilton had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Travis Barber led Southwestern with 19 points.
Rhodes (8-10; 3-7) will try to get back on the winning track when they face Trinity at 8pm (CT) in San Antonio.
