The 2009 Rhodes College baseball team had yet another successful season going 25-16 (9-6 SCAC). The 25 wins ranks the 2009 team 4th in Rhodes history for single season wins. This season could not have been as successful without great individual efforts. Six different Lynx players were named All-SCAC and two were named All-South Region.
Senior OF Mason Mosby was a 1st Team All-South Region selection as well as a 1st Team All-SCAC selection. Mosby led the SCAC in batting average, hitting .454, led the SCAC in on base percentage (.550), scored 50 runs, 39 RBIs, hit 8 homeruns, was 26-27 in stolen bases, and started all 41 games for the Lynx. Senior P Andy Holt was a 2nd Team All-South Region selection and a 1st Team All-SCAC selection. Holt was 6-2 on the year, with a 2.80 ERA, which ranked him 4th in the SCAC, threw 3 complete games, one shutout, and struck out 64 while allowing 19 walks in 74 innings of work.
Senior SS J.R. Bizzell and Sophomore C Chris Conkell were both 1st Team All-SCAC selections. Bizzell hit .359 in his senior campaign, with 12 doubles, 34 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, scored 33 runs, while starting all 41 games for the Lynx. Conkell had the second highest batting average for the Lynx hitting .364, with 51 hits, 22 RBIs, scored 24 runs, and stole 11 bases.
Sophomore OF Brent Lindsey and Freshman OF Travis Perkins were both Honorable Mention All-SCAC selections. Lindsey, who split time between third base and right field hit .325, with 50 hits, scored 34 runs, 9 doubles, 6 homeruns, 52 RBIs, stole 19 bases, while starting 40 of 41 games for the Lynx. Perkins started all 41 games in centerfield during his freshman year, hitting .344, with 10 doubles, 38 RBIs, scored 45 runs, and stole 31 bases.
